Officials in Republican-controlled Cochise County, Arizona are delaying the certification of this month’s midterm election results. They will miss the state's legal deadline of Monday, putting more than 47,000 Arizonans' votes at risk.

at risk and is expected to set off court action. The state's secretary of state's office plans to file a lawsuit on Monday, spokesperson Sophia Solis said by email.

Before Monday's vote, Arizona's state election director, Kori Lorick, said in a statement that the state's secretary of state"will use all available legal remedies to compel compliance with Arizona law and protect Cochise County voters' right to have their votes counted" if the board failed to complete its"non-discretionary duty.

npr is fakenews

Lorick works for Katie Hobbs, who ordered Lorick to ensure that Democrats get voted in, especially in the gubernatorial (Hobbs’ own) race.

They all should be arrested.

why do you get my tax dollars to spew your biased garbage?

Thank you for supporting election fraud. Your funding will end in about 3 years. Enjoy.

I don’t think there were 47,000 voters in Cochise County.

They are literal fascists, fascist Republicans, who ignore the will of the people in their insatiable quest for power.

When Cochise election board decides to nullify its voters' voices, they will never oversee another election...blue lining: Dems will secure another seat in the House.

She lost.Lost.. get over it

There's really a county named Cochise? That's fricken AWESOME!

Very unusual that a Democrat would abstain from voting to certify. Was he threatened or his family? Why would they do that? Something doesn’t add up!

Time to defund NPR as well.

And they’re being sued 👏🏼👏🏼

We cannot, CANNOT allow the GOP in elections. You don’t let people who want to abolish democracy run for elected office.

What a mess this Maricopa election fiasco is turning into. The latest news is 60% of machines had errors and now the FTX crypto money laundering scam was funding the Hobbs campaign. Wow! Maricopa Country must be the most corrupt County in the nation.

Absolutely outstanding! At least someone's got the guts to call y'all out on your corruption. This includes you NPR.

Sad

It’s also illegal.

Now they know how it feels to NOT have your vote counted. See maricopacounty & the devious, self-serving katiehobbs who orchestrated her own “win.” & thousands of Arizonans will forever look askance at ms hobbs, knowing she circumventing & schemed to count the votes “her way.”

If they don’t certify the lose a seat in Congress to a Dem, so that seems counterintuitive but very GOP.

'Arizona's state election director, Kori Lorick, said in a statement that the state's secretary of state 'will use all available legal remedies to compel compliance' . . . if the board failed to complete its 'non-discretionary duty.''

Republicans are stealing their own votes!

Cochise County, a martyr to darkness. Disenfranchise, illegally, all Cochise County votes in some absurd 'protest' of Maricopa County's already-certified election results? Yeah, you go Cochise County, that'll teach em.' Either way: LAKE = LOSER.

But it such a big deal when Dems apparently were doing it in the same exact state.

Deplorables.

Who is surprised

Teach Republicans a lesson tally state & federal results without the votes from Cochise. Let local Republican officials explain to their voters why Democrats take D-6 and any other races that may be affected, and why the County needs to pay for a new election for local seats.

If you remove that county from the vote totals, how are the races affected?

So why doesn’t NPR want a fair and open election?

Seriously..... Katie Hobbs is putting Arizona at risk. She cares nothing about the drugs and the human trafficking k Hobbs turns a blind eye to.

So, that means even less votes for Lake? I'm good with that.

Trump's coup is still ongoing

Good, then they risk losing their congressional win by Juan Ciscomani.

That should be an obvious case of election tampering. Just like Emily Murphy, the head of the General Services Administration when she purposefully held up Biden’s transition of power. Without proof

'Officials ... have voted to delay certifying the results of this month's midterm elections and miss the state's legal deadline of Monday, despite finding no legitimate problems with the local counts.' So, they're attempting a little mini-coup of the government in Arizona then.

I don't understand, what is the point they are trying to make? The Republicans control the county, they counted the votes, but refuse to certify their count... why? There is no logic to it, just clown car theater.🤡🤡🤡

I live in Texas and Abbott didn’t win Governor…..where’s my lawyer? Oh wait, it only works one way…my bad.

This would flip the US Rep 6 race putting Engel up by 8543 and would put Hoffman in the lead by 352 votes in the AZ SPI race.

When things don't go your way.

Dahlialithwick Put their GOP house vote at risk?

Doesn't Cochise County lean republican?

Praise God.

'If these people are dumb enough to elect me, should they really be voting at all? I'm doing you a solid America.' -Cochise County Republican on Board of Supervisors

Who could have predicted this?

Remember “cheaters never prosper”? I guess tublicans missed that message when they were kids. Seriously, the cheating is so wide and deep it’s depressing.

Destroying democracy because your vile candidates lose Is a conservative value 🚨

Your tweet should point out that there is no reasonable legal basis for this seditious action by the AZ GOP officials.
