Court Nullifies Adamawa Speaker's Senatorial Ticket, Bars PDP From Fielding Candidate In 2023 ElectionsJustice Abdul-aziz Anka on Monday invalidated the senatorial election conducted for the PDP candidate in the central senatorial zone of the state.The election of the Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Aminu Iya Abbas, as the senatorial candidate of the People's Democratic Party , has been nullified by a Federal High Court in Yola, the capital of the state.

During the PDP senatorial primary conducted on May 23, Iya Abbas defeated Auwal Bamanga Tukur, D. D. Azura, Mohammed Modibbo, Ibrahim Mustapha, Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Prambe. Justice Anka, in his ruling on the suit filed by Mohammed Modibbo versus the Peoples Democratic Party and four others, voided the senatorial primary elections for Adamawa Central conducted by the PDP.
