The Public Order Emergency Commission is expected to hear this week from about 50 experts who will share their perspectives on the use of the Emergencies Act, including whether it needs updating.
Other topics to be discussed this week include cryptocurrency, international supply chains and criminal law, with discussions largely driven by policy papers the inquiry commissioned earlier this year. Calling a public inquiry is a requirement under the emergency legislation and Justice Paul Rouleau, the commissioner of the inquiry, must submit his report to Parliament by Feb. 20, 2023.
It's not that complicated. Protests are meant to inform the government of our concerns, not threaten to usurp a legally elected gov.
The Charter of rights makes it clear that while people have the right to protest, that right does NOT allow for blockades and the occupying of public and private land, to name just a couple ( damage to public and private property is also illegal).
Where were all these “experts” when the protest was going on and they could not stop it?
All the parties are shyte, mandates were based on political science at the point of the protest and the criteria to meet the EA was not met! And the trucks should have been moved without the EA. Summed up what a reasonable Canadian thinks!
Except it wasn't a protest now was it? Three weeks terrorising a city doesn't quite sound like people practicing fundamental rights. Get your facts straight.
What rights Government controls us, this is freedom, and we love it! 🤡🤡🤡
It’s not that complicated.
But not whether or not the emergencies act was needed, which is what this inquiry was for.🙃
The answer to this inquiry is going to be whether or not it's going to benefit a liberal government which it will be allowed or will it benefit a conservative or a new forming government party which will not be allowed. And they will be listed as terrorists unless Liberals say ok
Don't be a traitor too
SHAM
Nothing will become of it; the Liberals will take this as permission to further intrude on our lives.
