The Ogun State Governorship candidate of the African Development Congress, ADC, Biyi Otegbeye, and 26 House of Assembly candidates of the party have been sacked by a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The judge explained that the primaries were held in violation of the Electoral Act, thereby calling on INEC to expunge the name of Otegbeye, and the 26 assembly candidates from the list of candidates’ cleared for the 2023 election. “Constitutionally, every Nigerian, every party before the court whose judgement has been given against has the right, constitutional right to approach the higher court and ventilate his or her grievances.
