That's not at all a legitimate headline. They altered the bill to include semi automatic center-fire rifles... Essentially anything that isn't single shot.

Lead by example - demilitarize the RCMP. Many are dealing with trauma (many of us are) and ought not be burdened with firearms unless necessary. Canada is a peaceful country.
Why not ban all military type weapons for 5 to 8 years and see where we are at the end of that time if the band worked or not
Other than looks. These 2 rifles are identical. Both fire the .223 cartridge, both only hold 5 rounds. The long mags on the AR styles are fake in Canada. Neither is more 'powerful' than the other. One is commonly used to hunt deer, the other is illegal. Does it make sense? No.
Hate to break it to ya but criminals don't care about your latest and greatest gun law. It only stops law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.
What’s not mentioned in this article is that the Liberals new definition of assault-style weapon is any rifle or shotgun that is semi auto and has a detachable magazine… that is entirely inaccurate and no surprise because not one of these Libs know or own a firearm

I like Australias restrictions, no pistols, no auto or semi auto weapons. Bolt action, lever action, and single shot/double barrel are perfectly fine for hunting. I would allow regulated firing ranges to rent restricted weapons (even automatic) for use on premises.
How could anyone applaud banning almost all guns in Canada? I live in a rural area with many locals especially indigenous people who hunt as part of the cutlure and to help put food on the table. How does taking their guns away help crime in Toronto?
I usually vote Liberal, but THIS issue on private gun ownership overreach is pushing me the other way. Sad ... because so much of the PC platform I disagree with. Citizens should have an absolute right to defend ourselves with whatever tools that are most likely to confront us.
