Cannabidiol oil is legal in Washington state. It's also legal in Canada. But the border is regulated by American federal law, so a man from Langley, B.C., now faces a lifetime ban from entering the U.S.

CBD oil not a controlled substance in the U.S., as long as it contains less than 0.3 per cent THC.

If I did something this stupid I would simply not tell the media about it

Know the rules before crossing into a sovereign nation.

Leave it to the USA to have some bullshit policy that supersedes all logic while also destroying lives. And everyone just got pardoned for weed possession, but we are still holding onto this shit that different weed products should be regulated differently? warondrugs drugs

Crossing the border isn’t a casual drive. Clean your vehicle. How hard is that?

Not a very smart man. The realities of crossing the border is well known.

Too bad

Lifetime ban? That's a gift that keeps on giving!

He should be banned. You can’t cross the border with contraband. CBC trying to insinuate that it’s unfair just makes CBC look like the pathetic activist source it is. Breaking the law has consequences, dummies.

Everybody knows the border is federally regulated being lazy is no excuse.🤔😏🤘

There are literally signs everywhere before the border. So its his own fault l. The usa is a sovereign nation and can pass whatever laws they like. Its your job as a cdn looking to enter the usa to meet the entry requirements.

Did you mention Justin trudeau’s name at least 3x in a good light in this article? If not, heir Trudeau will cut off your subsidy cheques for “positive news coverage”. Get it together

He should have known.

POTUS

When will people learn? Don't go across boarders with assumptions, you are probably wrong.

Comme ci, comme ça..

News: man breaks law, May be punished.

Let us hope our Mayor of Vancouver Kennedy Stewart obeys laws while in Qatar. And if you think the USA is strict 😅

This is common knowledge and the case for years.

Ridiculous drug laws disintegrate trust toward the government. So there is one thing that is good about them!

Anyone crossing the border or travelling to another country should review their laws.

know your law!

First past the post leads to an excess of federal power. The jurisdiction and revenue base of states and provinces is slowly eroded by voters wanting federal oversight from their party to protect them from the local government of the other party.

Their country…their rules!

The Canadian border is also federally regulated. There would be consequences for anyone crossing into Canada w CBD oil.

People don’t get it. You are crossing a border into another Country. The United States have rules just like Canada. Violate the rules and you don’t get in. It’s a privilege not a right to enter. It’s up to the individual traveller to know the rules and what the have with them

Ignorance of the law is never an excuse.

Being aware and understanding the law is half the battle. Ignorance, well see how that goes.

This reminds me of the name Brittany

He did something stupid, but the punishment does not fit the crime.

I was just talking about this with a coworker. This really needs to be fixed on the American side soon...

War on drugs!

Thanks Biden

Everyone in the comments sided with the preacher in Footloose

In 2018 the US Federal government legalized (deregulated) CBD derived from Hemp that contains under 3% THC. I fail to see how CBD would result in a lifetime ban.

junglejava1 Ridiculous

That's just dumb

Don’t people read up on rules before they travel to another country?

We know the rules. Veterans managing severe ptsd with medical cannabis are not welcome in the land of the brave and the home of the free

Get your shit together CoryBooker and SenSchumer msos PotStocks

It always pays to know the rules, even if you are high.

These seniors face a 20% rent increase — and Ontario rules make it legal | CBC NewsKim Tanaszczuk and other tenants of a Russell, Ont., apartment building said they were shocked to receive a notice earlier this year saying their expected monthly rent would jump, in some cases by 25 per cent. And it is perfectly legal. Greedy housing empires being greedy. What’s the story here? Thank you CBC for drawing attention to this issue. It is an awful way to treat seniors on fixed incomes. They need more protection, not less. Why such an increase? Greed? Rates didn't go up that high
