Court hears Hutch claims from garda tracking device

The 59-year-old who denies a charge of murder was recorded in conversation with former Sinn Féin councillor Jonathan Dowdall who drove him to Northern Ireland a month after the murder.The court also heard Mr Hutch say that Daniel Kinahan, the controller of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, looked"in a heap" after the murder.

Kinahan gangster David Byrne was shot dead on 5 February 2016, in a murder that escalated the ongoing Hutch-Kinahan feud. In relation to the murder at the Regency Hotel, Mr Hutch says he did not think the gardaí knew who was involved and dismissed reports in the paper as"speculation." Mr Hutch also refers to the Kinahans and in particular Daniel Kinahan being under pressure following the murder, saying Daniel"looks in a f***ing heap from photographs"
