It's highly unlikely Laundrie's estate has $3 million. Reilly called it"an arbitrary number" but that the Petito foundation would benefit from whatever amount is collected.
"Hopefully, this brings some closure to this one chapter of this tragedy," Steven Bertolino, an attorney for the Laundrie family, said in a message to CBS News., where the couple got into a physical altercation but were allowed by officers to resume their journey despite clear danger signs of domestic violence.

These two kids should have never been left alone. The young man that killed his girl friend. How can you do that to someone you love? Cowards way out. Should have been tried and convicted of killing her. Violence is not the answer. It’s easier to walk away.
'Reaching a settlement' is one thing. Actually collecting is another.
