BEAUFORT: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat President Datuk Peter Anthony urged voters to support parties that will stand up for their rights, but not Parti Warisan, He said it first supported locals but had since gone over to the peninsula. Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan and other political parties with roots in the peninsula should also be rejected, he said, while calling on people to support KDM candidate Datuk Johair Mat Lani.

Peter said although he helped to form Warisan he decided to leave when it decided to expand to the peninsula without consulting him. “Look how far Sarawak has advanced and developed without the involvement of political parties from the peninsula.”Peter said supporting political parties from the peninsula only led to problems for Sabah. The event was attended by Johair, members of the Parti KDM committee and some 700 supporters.
