Two Illinois Supreme Court justices seats are up for vote in the 2022 midterms, which could tip the balance of power if Republicans win them both.

Voters in the 2nd and 3rd districts will decide two contested races for the state's highest court. As voters in Elk Grove Village cast their ballots, many have seen tons of ads for candidates over the last couple months, including the two open seats on the Illinois Supreme Court.

Illinois election: GOP has chance to swing state Supreme Court balance of power in its favorTwo elections for Supreme Court seats give the Republican Party a shot at a majority on the state's highest court for the first time in more than 50 years. The bedrock of justice is IMPARTIALITY. Or, it SHOULD be. Probably for the best! Having a super majority State with individuals feeling oppressed doesn't push States in the right direction. Personally you can vote for life and families or vote for high taxes, abortion and child transgender reconstruction surgeries. Pretty easy vote... It really stinks when a guy who has never been a judge before and is not recommended by the bar associations might be elected over a HIGHLY qualified woman. What is wrong with people? :( This is a 10 YEAR term. We want someone qualified.
