Why Buhari Government Cannot Apply ‘No Work, No Pay’ Policy To Nigerian University Lecturers — FalanaFalana, in a statement made available to SaharaReporters, described the government’s argument as misleading and legally defective
He wrote, “In justifying the payment of half salary to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities for the month of October 2022, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige has invoked the"no-work-no- pay" clause in section 43 of the Trade Disputes Act Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
“In the same vein, the ASUU recently called off its 8-month old strike in compliance with the order of the National Industrial Court and the Court of Appeal. We are therefore compelled to call on President Buhari should ignore the advice of Dr. Ngige and direct the public universities to pay the full salary of each lecturer from February to October 2022.
They should better hire a good SAN like Ozekhome. Falana is just a clown.
Education is a foreign exchange earner if properly developed but the class of people in leadership see it as taboo and a 'HARAM' becos it runs counter to their evil personal agendas. In the 70s/80s foreigners were enrolling in Nigerian universities. 2023 we need bright leaders.
