SEPANG: Cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman, popularly known as Datuk Seri Vida, pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here Tuesday (Nov 8) to uploading an allegedly offensive video clip in April.

Hasmiza, 51, allegedly produced and uploaded the video in question on the DSV Entertainment YouTube channel with the intention of offending others on April 29.

The charge, framed under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and punishable under Section 233 of the same law, provides a maximum fine of RM50,000 or up to a year’s jail, or both if found guilty. The prosecution was conducted by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission deputy public prosecutor Fazril Sani Mohamed Fadzil, while Hasmiza was represented by Datuk Adnan Seman.It was reported previously that the accused uploaded a"Muah Muah Raya" video on the channel featuring a group of cross-dressing dancers, indirectly implicating her in promoting LGBT elements. – Bernama
