Riley Williams, 23, will face charges in a federal courthouse in Washington D.C. across the street from where the Jan. 6 riots occurred nearly two years ago.

That’s what prosecutors say Riley Williams, 23, of Mechanicsburg shouted as a violent crowd overwhelmed Capitol police, broke into the U.S. Capitol and stormed Congressional offices on Jan. 6, 2021.

Williams is accused of obstructing law enforcement officers with the capitol police or the D.C. Metropolitan during civil disorder, obstructing the Electoral College’s vote certification, and assaulting law enforcement officers inside the capitol building. Williams entered through the Senate Wing Door, just minutes after rioters had breached it by smashing the windows on both sides, which was visible from video she recorded herself, prosecutors later wrote.

She bragged to an associate, prosecutors say, that she had engineered “such a good tactic” to breach police lines by running around looking “for guys with shields or gear” and pointing them to the front to “fight police while the rest would stand behind them and push.”
