Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended its governorship aspirant, Hon. Ladi Adebutu and the acting chairman, Hon. Taiwo Akinlabi. The party also suspended the state secretary, Hon. Sunday Solarin, state publicity secretary, Mr. Akinloye Bankole, and Ogun East senatorial chairman, Arc. Kayode Adebayo. They were suspended for alleged disobedience to the subsisting court judgement which produced the current executives of the party.
