Talakawa’s Parliament, an affiliate of the Network of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (NOCSON), has written to the Inspector-General of Police, notifying him that his office's directive over the unlawful dismissal of a police sergeant was ignored. In a letter dated September 30, 2022, the non-profit organisation that seeks to advocate for human rights, among others lamented the wrongful dismissal of Sgt. Aiguobasinmwin Esosa and the failure of the police force to reinstate him despite a court ruling asking the police authorities to do so.

"That the Nigeria Police Force being a creation of the Nigeria Constitution has been upholding the rule of law and respecting judicial decisions of competent courts of the land in matters of this nature. "That till date, the astute, indefatigable and cerebral Inspector General of Police, nothing has been done to that effect, The Commissioner of Police, Legal Department has refused to deal with positively which has traumatized the said SGT. AIGUOBASINMWIN ESOSA.
