Following the appointment of lawyer Cheloy Garafil as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Friday said his administration is still transition.

At the sidelines of a Department of Science and Technology event in Pasay City, Marcos was asked why did he appoint Undersecretary Garafil as OIC instead of Secretary. "Because we are still in transition. We talk about rightsizing all the time. We are rightsizing everything, everywhere all the time and this is part of that," Marcos said.

"So, that’s the reason that I said we are still in transition. But magso-solidify na 'yang mga position na 'yan ," he added. and accepted the role of being the OPS OIC following the resignation of lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles due to health reasons. Garafil had said changes within the OPS should be expected. She said she would meet with other OPS officials to discuss the operations within the said Office.
