Prosecutors pointed to DNA evidence collected against Chemirmir in other murder cases, saying it shows a pattern similar to Brooks' death.Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot lays out the prosecution's case against accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir. The defense argued that the actual evidence in the death of Brooks was not enough to find Chemirmir guilty of capital murder.Accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir is believed to have killed at least 22 elderly women.The defense also rested its case after Chemirmir opted not to testify in his own defense.Defense attorneys say there is not enough evidence to find accused serial killer Billy Chemirmir guilty of murder.

Prosecutors presented DNA evidence that appears to link Chemirmir to another of his 22 alleged victims, 80-year-old Martha Williams. Williams was found dead inside her Plano home in January 2018. It’s all in an effort to paint Chemirmir as being a serial killer who preyed on elderly women and made their deaths look like natural causes.
