Pa. State Police warn of scammers pretending to troopers

State police say they will never call asking for gift cards or payments, and legitimate companies and departments will not request gift cards for payments.

“PSP will never call you asking for gift cards or payments for “arrest warrants” or “Megan’s Law offenses.” Scammers are STILL spoofing PSP phone numbers claiming to be troopers threatening to arrest people unless they receive gift cards. THIS IS A SCAM,” said Trooper Megan Frazer in a tweet.
