Provincial justice minister says Alberta will not agree to having RCMP officers act as confiscation agentsAlberta Justice Minister Tyler Shandro says he received a letter from the minister of public safety asking for police resources to begin confiscating firearms this fall.
Well I agree with him why do you want our police service taken off their regular duties to confiscate private property of law abiding citizens.
“Ensure deadly firearm are taken off the street” as opposed to the non deadly ones ..turns out knives can be deadly as well ..
Why would they? They apparently want the cops all shot based on their support of the yahoos that planned to do exactly that
That’s hilarious! They’re afraid they have to go to their friends and colleagues houses.
Canada doesn’t have a legal gun problem. Good on Alberta
RCMP is Federal
The ttc is filled with ads begging Ontarians to move to Albertabama If I wanted to move to the deep south redneck Bible belt... no wait, I'd never want that.
Not justice minister for long.
He will not have a say they are federal!
Every province should follow Alberta's lead. Trudeau and his storm troopers have no right stealing legally purchased property. TrudeauIsDestroyingCanada TrudeauMustGo TrudeauDictatorship TrudeauMustResign TrudeauWorstPMever
You should move to the battlefield known as the USA, where you would guns everywhere!!!!
James999_travel Don’t listen to the government. Keep or obtain any weapons you feel are necessary to defend yourself and your property.
Thank god someone is actually looking at the statistics and using common sense. Not just comparing us to the United States who have completely different laws and little to no rules. This bill is nothing but a fear mongering tactic for un informed people. wasteofresources
Let’s see now - Shandro understanding the rule of Law in this Country — hahaha, oh, hahaha. NDP UCP Alberta ableg
this party is out of touch. We don’t need assault rifles in Alberta. This is not the USA.
They are ok with armed insurrectionists like Coutts.
I thought they were buying them from the current law abiding citizens not seizing them. They were legal when they bought they’re not paying the owners anymore? Have the police take the property from them? What is the next property they’ll seize?
Idiots
Good.
It doesn't matter. The RCMP is not a provincially directed institution. It is federal, as is the criminal code.
Alberta Justice Minister will direct the RCMP to not enforce the law. Is this how Jason Kenney convinced the RCMP to stop their investigation of the UCP identity fraud in their leadership race?
Does Alberta just wants to be “murica” or are they going full on fascist white supremacists too?
Thank god one province have the guts to stand up for its people.
🖕dictator Trudeau and his overreach! TrudeauMustGo
Refuse to let the RCMP confiscate prohibited weapons. So, are we going to let the imaginary Alberta Police Force do the job?
RCMP reports to Federal Govt
How can anyone trust the RCMP having Lucky as the commissioner. The RCMP has become Trudeaus private gestapo. It showed at the freedom convoy Lucky ordering peaceful protesters to be run down by horses. No wonder Alberta is questioning the RCMP.
Not sure how this buyback will work...it is written into Trudeau’s ban that you “Cannot buy, sell, transfer, or transport any of the firearms listed” . If the government is wanting to “buy” them back, anyone who “sells” the firearms in question is in contravention to the law.
How do the contracts read for provincial policing and municipal policing? Federal positions are likely vacant because contracts have to be filled first.
You better be paying attention fordnation
Welcome to Ya’lberta
Shandro was a failure as health minister and now he continues the tradition as Justice minister. Talk about a bottom feeder.
Tell me you want to be American without saying it
Pretty sure he doesn’t get to decide what a federal agency does
Good, No Government shouldnt confinscate private property from law abiding citizens. Trudeau using US shootings for his own political gain in canada.
Alberta, Canada’s version of Texas.
Typical…it’s Alberta the redneck state of Canada
I look forward to the Republic of Albertastan. They can pay for all the Canadian Gov. has given the Province and then resume their existence as a bunch of whiney me monkeys. So tired of their we don't want to follow the laws, or we're taking our oil ball and going home. Just GO
Oh but they can do what they want to indigenous peoples. Right? Suck it up butter cup.
Will they confiscate weapons on Reservations?
So Alberta will decide what laws the federal government will prosecute and dictate which federal laws federal police officers enforce 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Buncha friggin rednecks.
Alberta wants to be Texas soooo bad
Sorry what state are they?
Does this Minister realize if he breaks a federal law he can be arrested? I knrw for decades Alberta is weird..now more then ever
Albertans need to vote for separation or shut tf up about this divisive bullshit. The UCP are a bunch of LARPing leftists, no different than the federal conservatives. I hate the federal government as much as the next Albertan, but it's time to either shit or get off the pot.
Idiots
Who wants to remind shandro that if the guns are illegal, the gun owners are not 'law-abiding'?
Nice to see there’s some in government with balls instead of the majority weak yes men that just play follow their leader.
It's probably time for Alberta to have its own police force.
The diagolon donations worked….
How will taking away Alberta’s guns stop all the black people shooting each other in Toronto? This must be some liberal logic I don’t understand.
Yes the rednecks with the machine guns need protection from the big bad government
Re-federalize the force. There's one criminal code.
They’d prefer their citizens to have prohibited weapons.
I wish hitlers police had done the same.
Wish them luck on that.
Then they are breaking federal law.
Good.
