A high school counselor and dean unknowingly gave an accused gunman a backpack containing the pistol and magazines officials say he used to kill four people and injure seven in Oxford, Michigan, last year, a lawyer representing victims’ families said.

During the meeting with counselor Shawn Hopkins and dean Nicholas Ejak, the student became"really worried" about missing chemistry class and asked for his homework and backpack, Johnson said. The student returned to class around 11 a.m. and is accused of opening fire just before 1 p.m., Johnson said.

Unknowingly?

Why would they even have the backpack?

They knew that guns are his right and every American needs as many guns as possible just like Jesus wanted it!! MAGA

Guess we know......

So they didn’t check the backpack first?

Administration and teachers cannot search a student's bag without probable cause. Writing disturbing things on a notecard is not probable cause. As usual you are all blaming schools instead of the murderer and the parents who bought him the gun.

🤦🏽‍♀️

See something say something…

We know that already and his parents helped too.

Another family trying to hit the lawsuit lotto.

Some people shouldn’t have kids.

Why would they search the bag of a child student? Why would they suspect his idiot parents bought him a gun? What grounds would they have for such a search? Teenage boys doodle during class, including doodles of guns. Why is this the fault of teachers, again.

NBC--How many more times will you post this? And WHY?

So so sad and tragic. I guess the question needs to be asked was a SRO in the meeting, hence having someone who would know and have the legal authority to search the bag.

They get like ten bucks an hour.

Because he wasn’t a POC. Just a person of European descent having a bad day. Poor baby. Why would they ever think to check backpack? 🎒

Hindsight is 20/20. Which is what this article is filled with.

Are we suppose to be shocked or something?

If only the dem heavy, unionized, cult of public education, stepped away from parading: lgbtq, restroom parity, and hate/race indoctrination- perhaps focusing on “students,” this 💩 can be averted

This headline is extremely misleading. Y’all have to do better bc this is dangerous. It was his own backpack- they handed it to him without checking it. You make it sound like they got a gun and gave it to the kid 🤦‍♀️

“Unknowingly” 🤷🏻‍♂️

They gotta me the smartest beep with titles.

Nobody tells us what political party these 2 folks are? C'mon man, that's important for anything related to guns nowadays right? lmao.

What the hell? Even noticing it’s weight seemed off? Didn’t want to hurt his feelings?

So who was the 'good guy with a gun'?

Ban backpacks.

How did they no search the backpack and the kid? I’s protocol. Unbelievable.

Talk about your head in the sand.

Guns - no bueno

Complete incompetence..: why would the Sro not be notified and his belongings searched?

It 🤯 they did not check his backpack. They could have called an SRO.

“Unknowingly” 👀🤔
