In the filing before the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the Justice Department said the court should halt part of the lower court decision that prevents prosecutors from relying on the classified documents in their criminal investigation.

The Department said said delaying the review of the classified documents, which it argues are government property,"impedes the government's efforts to protect the Nation's security". The government motion comes after US District Judge Aileen Cannon this week rejected the same requests from the Justice Department.
