joining a legal challenge against an attempt by Stormont minister Edwin Poots to halt Irish Sea border checks.
The step taken in February by the DUP Agriculture Minister came amid the party's ongoing opposition to Brexit's Northern Ireland Protocol.Mr Poots said he had received legal advice that he could order a halt in the absence of approval for the inspections from the wider Stormont Executive.Belfast City Council, a Sinn Fein member granted anonymity and another applicant named Edward Rooney are all challenging the lawfulness of the minister’s decision.
"Therefore, it is unfortunate that this latest partisan approach is again sending a clear message to unionists that the council does not represent their views and interests.
All I see from repeated headlines are: Blame the DUP for everything. So the Greens/SF/Alliance/UUP and Independent do no wrong? I have seen this years!
The protocol is working and the DUP need to get back to work or step down. Stop voting for these free riders taking us all for mugs.
Bore on fs
Is there anyone outside the ERG they haven't distanced themselves from.... they're not very bright I'm afraid
The DUP have distanced themselves from real life issues such as cost of living, heating or eating but sure as long they get paid and can claim for expenses that's OK 🙄
'It is our view that Belfast City Council should act on behalf of all the citizens of our great city.” But we want to be on the wrong side of history, as is our tradition, so…
just another stunt by nationalists to keep stirring the pot, absolute shower BCC are, instead of being a council stop involving in political issues
