Last year they already talked about it to extend the DRS because the straight in Zandvoort is very short. DRS starting on a banked corner is very good possible.

You do not 'trial' this. You simply ANNOUNCE the DRS zone in advance for the whole weekend. It is is fundamentally impossible, teams would find out in simulations well ahead. And if the teams come with unsafe setups, causing their drivers to crash, it is their own mistake.

Spa's easy DRS ruined the race
People doesn't know that without DRS, only the cars with the less drag (top teams) can overtake without emptying their batteries. Did you watch races back in the early 2010s ? Yep baby, overtakes were not common

They specifically created the banking corner before the straight for DRS to be possible in the corner. So it nice that it's finally tested now.

The natural downforce created by the banking of the corner is more than enough to offset the downforce lost from DRS being open. My question is do you want open wheel cars racing side by side in such a tight, high speed corner?
Never understood why DRS is only allowed in certain sectors at certain times. It should be allowed any time, anywhere. It’s like the cockamamie rule in NASCAR that closes the pits. You should be allowed to pit when ever you want!

Remember folks, the rear wing contributes a smaller percentage of total downforce to the cars these days. The floor should do it’s thing and suck the car to the road. They wouldn’t be trialling it if it wasn’t safe

Lol, just change the technical rules already. Make cars smaller as they were. They also need less downforce yo be slower in the corners in order to allow for overtaking. They just create more and more problems to just solve not half of it
