Nasir Illa, his Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters gave the information on Monday.The council has the responsibility of advancing the study, training and practice of the counselling profession.

The skills to be attained by persons seeking to become registered members of the profession are stated by the new law. It empowers the council to review the standard as circumstances may require; establish and maintain standards in accordance with the provisions. The law further allows the council to secure professional status, promote members’ interest and the advancement of the art and science of counselling knowledge.Others are National Institute Of Credit Administration Act ; Chartered Institute of Social Work Practitioners Act .

The rest include Meteorological Agency Act ; Pharmacy Council Of Nigeria Act ; Advertising Regulatory Council Of Nigeria Act
