by June 22 of this year.Long-Term Care Minister Paul Calandra said in a statement that another 24 homes are expected to be compliant by Sept. 22, but that these two homes were fined because they were not working with the ministry to achieve full air conditioning.
The government says Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia, Ont., has refused to install air conditioning and has no plans in place to do so, while McCormick Home in London, Ont., is debating the definition of air conditioning and is not publicly reporting room temperatures. The ministry says nearly every outstanding home has purchased air conditioning equipment and provided the ministry with receipts.
More than 300 air conditioning units had been held since July at the Port Authority of Montreal and were well back in queue, but Calandra spoke to federal Transportation Minister Omar Alghabra about them and the units were released on Aug. 5, the government said. The two homes that have been fined have now been ordered to be in compliance by Sept. 16 or face another fine. The ministry could also direct a home to stop admissions, suspend a licence and take over a long-term care home, or revoke the licence and have an interim manager operate the home.
wait .. weren't those instructions and fines issued with the previous ON gov't?
Tap on the wrist for his buddies
At the end of summer? Huh
Betcha Dougie isn't collecting those fines. Just for show.
Good!
A $1,100 fine, that will show them…🙄
The directors of these LTC homes should face personal sanctions - that’ll get them moving.
Wasn’t Ford going to deliver to all LTC homes?
2 out of 13. Guess it's better than nothing. Those ltc ceo probably don't care as it's not their money and this is a cost of doing business
Go after “for profit” homes!!!!! They are making millions.
Yea they noticed this now when summer is almost over?
Good!
If the LTCs won't provide adequate living conditions, fordnation should send his contractor friends to install the AC and send the bill to the LTC operator.
The fine is a joke. Cost over 50x that to install air conditioning.
Hmmm takes them long enough, now see how great we are with LTC going after them give me a break ppl calling them on their lies..now go after those wanting over $100,000 to build their houses says will Ford does zip
And the 88 other ones without air conditioning, PaulCalandra?

Suspicious timing?
