Alberta is on the verge of the constitutional abyss

is a wholly unworkable, flagrantly unconstitutional and massively destabilizing proposal called the Alberta Sovereignty Act.

Might all of this attract the interest of federal law enforcement? No problem: the RCMP would be expelled from Alberta, in favour of a provincial police force. Perhaps the federal government might object? But the Alberta government would have seized much of its revenues. Provincial government employees would agree to send their taxes to the province, rather than the feds, as would provincial businesses.

But at least Quebec’s separatists declined to attempt their coup d’état without first seeking a mandate from the people in a referendum. Whereas for Ms. Smith, it would apparently

What do you think Danielle Smith's reaction will be if NDP wins in Alberta in 2023, and CPC wins federally in 2025? Does Danielle Smith really believe that Rachel Notley gets to govern as if all democratically-casted federal votes did not exist? Pretty sure Smith back tracks.

Ridiculous, but Trudeau is to blame for this even becoming a real threat. He is so divisive, always takes an 'us' vs 'them' approach. This is what we get
