TRIER, Germany: A German court on Tuesday sentenced a 52-year-old man to life in prison for killing five people, including a baby, by driving a speeding car into a pedestrian zone in the western city of Trier.
Authorities said at the time the 2020 killings appeared to be deliberate and he was convicted of murder. The accused, Bernd W, had spent several nights in the vehicle and did not seem to have a fixed address.
