A new promo for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law presents a pitch-perfect parody of Law & Order. She-Hulk is the latest Disney+ series from Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which began with the premiere of WandaVision in January 2021 and will end with this November's release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, kicking off the franchise's Multiverse Saga.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany will play the titular heroine, a superhero-defending attorney named Jennifer Walters who develops Hulk powers thanks to her cousin, Bruce Banner. The show will follow her attempting to balance dating with her new powers while also succeeding in her career, which will eventually force her to face off against the villain Titania .
While it's obviously just a joke that the promo is referencing Law & Order, the full video does reveal that the idea of She-Hulk being a proper legal show was never far from the minds of the creators. While it will subvert those tropes in humorous and action-packed ways, this promo highlights more than ever before just how much of the show will actually take place inside the courtroom.
This vibe is certainly in keeping with the fact that the Disney+ wing of the MCU has proven to be the place where Marvel is really open to experimenting and pursuing different tones and approaches to the material. WandaVision was similarly able to experiment with format, combining sitcom pastiche with a Lynchian unknowable terror for the first half of its run, and shows like Moon Knight and this summer's Ms.
i hope at least one person gets locked up in this show. take em to the raft post credit scene last ep. where we see one of the other future thunderbolts there say something. then end👀🫠🫠
