White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said overturning Roe v. Wade was an “unconstitutional action by” the Supreme Court. It was entirely constitutional for the court to rule as it did.

Jean-Pierre was responding to a question suggesting the White House had been slow in issuing executive orders on abortion access.

Although many Americans have joined Jean-Pierre and the Biden White House in disagreeing with the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, it is widely accepted that the court was acting within its powers. . In 1803, the court wrote that"it is emphatically the duty of the Judicial Department to say what the law is.""If a 10-year-old became pregnant as a result of rape and it was threatening her life, then that’s not an abortion.""There is no question the court had the power to do what it did" in overturning Roe v. Wade, Zick said.

jessestopshop I guess Dred Scott was also a good Constitutional Decision?

Nope. The Supreme Court -- even a legitimate one, which this is not -- cannot make rulings violating several Amendments, PolitiFake.

JonathanLanday This is not a factual dispute.

Yes it was.

Abortion is not in the 'constitution'. Oh wait, I forgot, we have no constitution.

JonathanLanday It was certainly egregious.

No it wasn't. They denied us a basic right to bodily autonomy. If my body doesn't belong to me & me alone, then I am not a free person! You can't force a woman to bear offspring, we are not your livestock! This is a crime against humanity. Shame on you.

This isn't a statement that is subject to a Fact Check.

She meant entirely “immoral” given our “free” society.

Because of a decision that the Court itself made, giving itself that authority. 'I have the power to do this because I say I have the power to do this.'

Hmmm. But their reasoning (scotus) did not make sense constitutionally.

How Abortion Bans Will Stifle Health Care InnovationInvestment in what is typically called “FemTech” – defined as diagnostic tools, products, and services related to women’s health — has exploded over the past decade. Some of the most promising ventures have been focused on reproductive care. Then came the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. The legal and policy restrictions on reproductive health care that result from this decision will not only have swift impact on people who can get pregnant and their families, it will also undermine critical areas of research, innovation, and progress toward more equitable health care outcomes. Among the areas of concern: fertility treatments like IVF; personal data collection and the ability to drive research; a limiting of new investment and curbing of health care innovation more broadly; and the introduction of new obstacles for women founders. But it will save potentially millions of children from being murdered by lazy, irresponsible women who find their children inconvenient. That's the best health care innovation you can have!

Was Ketanji Brown Jackson the Judge in the ‘Pizzagate’ Case?“Pizzagate” was a bizarre conspiracy theory that arose in 2016. It claimed Hillary Clinton and her former campaign chairman, John Podesta, ran a child sex ring in the basement of the Comet Ping Pong pizzeria in Washington, D. C. Snopes is definitely a disinfo website. Snopes receives funding from an undisclosed source. Snopes refuses to disclose that source. Did snopes look at there Instagram photos of naked children?
