ILOILO CITY — Students at West Visayas State University here were surprised on Wednesday to find Louise Araneta-Marcos among their law faculty members.
The first lady’s name appeared in WVSU’s Integrated University Information System where her corresponding subject was listed as Criminal Law 1.WVSU president Joselito Villaruz on Friday confirmed Marcos’ recruitment, saying she submitted her requirements in accordance with the university’s selection guidelines.
“We have a system of hiring faculty members and we based that on merit, credentials, teaching experience and professional experience. It is open to all, we do not pick who we want to accept,” he said in an interview with Bombo Radyo Iloilo.
