A group of foreign nationals, who were fighting to be admitted and enrolled as legal practitioners in South Africa, but lack permanent residency, lost their bid in the Constitutional Court on Tuesday. | J_chabalala

It also declined to confirm that Section 24 of the Legal Practice Act 28 of 2014 was unconstitutional and invalid to the extent that it did not allow foreigners to be admitted and authorised to enroll as non-practising legal practitioners.

They entered into contracts of articles of clerkship, completed vocational training, and passed the practical examination for attorneys. When they applied to be admitted and enrolled as attorneys of the high court, their applications were dismissed because they were neither South African citizens nor lawfully admitted to this country as permanent residents.

The court said section 24 of the LPA is legislation that regulates practice, legally-related occupations and professions in general.

J_chabalala Izinja. Oodoti. Amaphela. Iimbungulu

J_chabalala I said it before still saying it entitlement is what you have your ego has blinded you in SA you'll be foreigners till the eternity

J_chabalala Constitutional Court ruling shows us that once they achieved what they were here for, then study permits letting them to go back home and being attorneys there .

J_chabalala Best news ever 🙌 South Africa is for South Africans first

J_chabalala 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

J_chabalala So these professionals study in our country with no intention of returning to their own countries? Can't they see that the country is not even able to employ its own professionals who have completed their studies at accredited institutions.

J_chabalala Heee banna their countries needs their skills. These people don't have intentions of going back home

J_chabalala Is it the same with Engineers?

J_chabalala They can go and practice in their respective countries...We have enough

J_chabalala This is the 🇿🇦 we want, Thanks ConCourtSA, sane & a sober country is what we need simbachitando hambani'somblief!

J_chabalala Robert Mugabe and K Kauda studied their LLB here at Fort here SA but practice in their country and liberate their people

J_chabalala This is the rare ruling from this con court because their livelhood is threatened. If it was about removing illegal foreigners from street, let alone denying foreiners covid grant, it would have rule in favour of foreigners, hypocrite, sies.

J_chabalala Let them go.

J_chabalala South Africa and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse have a lot in common.

J_chabalala Even our legal system slowly opening their eyes and mind.

J_chabalala Imagine the chaos..african opinion is law.

J_chabalala They should look elsewhere in Europe, US, Canada, UK where you find foreigners taking part in public sectors. In Africa particularly South Africa, Its not gonna happen with the situation at hand.

J_chabalala No surprise here

J_chabalala I looooove this

J_chabalala But they leave the unemployed illegals 🤬

J_chabalala Those guys must voetsek and go practice their law in Zimbabwe to fight ED Mnangwangwa. As for me i am tired of foreigner's entitlement. Who do they think they are in our cointry? They can fokof

J_chabalala They are mad what's wrong in their country 'salute'

J_chabalala They must go back to Zimbabwe and fix their country

Xolani_Shamase J_chabalala They can go BACK to their countries of origin and practice law THERE. for once a court ruling i can fully support!

J_chabalala Haibo they want to infiltrate every space neh

J_chabalala This is a good News indeed.. foreigners want to run spazashops and now be lawyers so kahle kahle. Their plan is to take over SA

J_chabalala Scramble for (South) Africa.

J_chabalala Once upon a time.

J_chabalala Common sense really. You can't obtain citizenship or permanent residency through the backdoor 🤷🏿‍♂️

J_chabalala Our country is working now

J_chabalala We are slowly gaining traction ... all thanks to Mr Motswaledi.👌

J_chabalala We may very well question their qualifications: no permanent residency but wants to be admitted legal professionals 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

J_chabalala Oh dear! If a group of legal people fought and lost... They don't seem to be skilled enough

J_chabalala Why do South Africa allow foreigners to question every decision taken and implemented about them? Like they fight like they are in their countries of birth. It's like them wanting to come up with laws and policies of this country that will suit them.

J_chabalala Now they are going to marry South Africans to get the permanent residency...

J_chabalala Thanks we are sick and tired of foreign nationals who think they have a share of everything in SA

J_chabalala This Zimbabweans are so arrogant. Thier entitlement attitudes stinks shame. They must futsek here in our country

J_chabalala And now they will appeal the ruling

J_chabalala Yes send them back asap

J_chabalala This is a win for SA merely because these judges are protecting their industry and profession. What about teachers, truck drivers, construction workers, call centres, admin clerks, etc.

J_chabalala South Africa is not Father Christmas guys. We are not Santa Clause hey. Go do law in your own country of origin.

J_chabalala Yessssssss✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾

J_chabalala Good for the Con Court. If you are a legal immigrant with proper residency, different story. But you can’t come here illegally and think it’s ok. No country in the world operates like that.

J_chabalala Thanx South Africa, they must be zimbabweans, always running away from their country

J_chabalala The real aliens here are the whites and the Asians.

J_chabalala This satafrika will be lost to foreigners soon under the watch of the ANC

BlasteofThibo J_chabalala Good

J_chabalala They must voetsek

J_chabalala Pop mabodlela pop shampopo!

J_chabalala They think this country is a public toilet!

J_chabalala Will the Helen Suzman foundation go for the rescinding of the judgement 😂😂😂

J_chabalala W

J_chabalala America might welcome them, maybe the UK or better yet, their country of origin. Haak!

J_chabalala They’re pushing it. There’s enough legal practitioners in the country.

J_chabalala That's normal.

MajinBuuHero J_chabalala Well done Judges

J_chabalala Last option is a smooth transition of packing their belongings and hit the road.. Fair judgement..

J_chabalala Aiye tau!

J_chabalala Our Constitution needs serious amendments to clearly spell out some of the illegal immigrants and foreign nationals rights and role whilst here in SA, it has to protect citizens against criminals and abuse of SA by foreign nationals.

They must go to hell

J_chabalala

J_chabalala What nonsense is this. It clearly demonstrates how weak our constitution is. To even entertain such nonsense. Constitution must be changed.

J_chabalala These Zimbabweans are so damn annoying. They must go back and fight for their damn country maan. Haai fok.

J_chabalala What status is Simba Chitando practicing under? Can he now go to United Nations? South Africa belongs to South Africans period, Foreigners should go seek protection in their own land and not in South Africa

J_chabalala VuxakaMhlava

J_chabalala

J_chabalala Good.

J_chabalala That's good we have enough lawyers here in the country

J_chabalala You're so disappointed serves you right. This by extension should apply to every facet of life to rid us the country of parasitic economic migrants

Ncimz09 J_chabalala Zizojiki Zinto.✊✊🇿🇦🇿🇦✊✊

J_chabalala must they go and b lawyer's in country of origin... Or on the other hand maybe it's them who can save us fr this corrupt Judiciary

J_chabalala The nerve

J_chabalala They protect their territory but expose other territories to foreign dominance🤔🤔

J_chabalala Why don't they use that same energy and fight for their rights back in their own country.

ZengFuey J_chabalala Das ryt.

J_chabalala Their leader was very cocky Newzroom405 on Saturday saying the case is winnable interesting also the litigants are mainly Zimbabwens ironically the same 'advocate' is fighting HomeAffairsSA on ZEP's,what now?

J_chabalala Yall gona run this story until there end of the year kanene because your favs have unlimited rights🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣

J_chabalala The entitlement continues 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Why can't those people go and practise in their own countries? Why do they all force themselves on us?

ZengFuey J_chabalala Aykhale!!!!

J_chabalala Thanks God 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Thanks to our judiciary 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 thank you south africa 🇿🇦 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 We know they want to becom 'human rights' lawyers so they can challenge our laws to allow their citizens to take over our countries When students graduate should go back home OperationDudula

J_chabalala Constitutional court? Meaning the only place to appeal is in their own countries!? Nice!🤣

J_chabalala They must all Voetsek back to their countries of origin. The market is already saturated, they want to add more. Whoever let them serve articles was wrong. They should have just graduated and leave our country. The entitlement is nauseating 🤮

J_chabalala No hope left….

J_chabalala It shouldn't even have gone as far as the concourt. These are our laws, either you study SA's LLB at a SAQA approved institution or you go practice in your country of origin. Just ike, you know, they do literally everywhere else in the world?

J_chabalala But truly speaking how can you expect a country to develop when it's citizens are running away from it🥴

J_chabalala What happened to their own countries

J_chabalala Good. They must go fix their country and practice Law there.

J_chabalala Good

J_chabalala Great decision

J_chabalala Now...

J_chabalala Ku Tense, ku tricky ku Wow

J_chabalala Imagine admitting these fakhas and we have an array of them as our judges!!!! Yeeerrrr!!!! They'd make sure they oppress us more than the bullying they're doing through courts.

TheDynamicOne3 J_chabalala SimbaChitanda The MFs must start packing. We want them gone like yesterday. We want our country back, the length and breadth of it, every square inch. The invasion must stop. DrMotsoaledu OperationDudula PutSouthAfricaFirst

J_chabalala Big up to the CouncilPractice for protecting its members...

J_chabalala 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

J_chabalala Nelson Mandela why did you do this to us, foreigners are even challenging our Democratic laws in the Constitutional Court. People who have never set foot in the courts of their Countries. Hai man

J_chabalala This is the paragraph that sets the tone for other sectors! So this means we can have job reservations for locals in other sectors as well

J_chabalala Let them go back to their own homeland n practice there

J_chabalala Let them go back to their own homeland n practice their for haven sake

J_chabalala How did they study law and miss the part about one needs to be a citizen in order to practice law in the Republic?

J_chabalala They ar done studying, meaning their student visas have expired. That makes them illegal foreigners, so they should be deported

J_chabalala Lineo_LL BongiMapikitla

J_chabalala Those ones are crazy, they must go practice law in their countries. They came to SA on a student visa, they are done studying.

J_chabalala 🇿🇼 n's right now..

J_chabalala 💃💃💃💃💃💃

J_chabalala Why do we even have to waste court resources listening to foreigners? Foreigners should be approaching their government at home to practice at home.

J_chabalala Foreign nationals think that they are entitled to almost everything here in SA...well done to the constitutional court judges

J_chabalala Solution: Vote the ANC government out

J_chabalala This is beautiful. Foreigners are losing at the apex court. That completely nullifies these fvcking NGO's that attempt to run SA via the courts. Bye bye ZEP.

J_chabalala 🎉🎊🎉🎊

J_chabalala Zimbabwe is the only country in the world that has more of its citizens living outside than those living in it. Zimbabwe has a population of 22 million people. 12 million reside in South Africa, 6 million spread across the world and 4 million are in Zimbabwe. Let's pray for Zim

J_chabalala Good!

J_chabalala Well-done ConCourt ❤️

J_chabalala This is great news...

SboshPatriot J_chabalala Z'yakhala

J_chabalala Articles also need to be registered with LPC. On what legal basis was registration allowed? It’s a WORK contract. Do they have work permits? What are the names of the firms who employed them over SAn graduates? Surely, your journalists researched this? WHO funded the lawsuit?

J_chabalala

J_chabalala Mainly barred because they're more inept/intelligent/hardworking then our lot 😡😡😡😡

J_chabalala This is the best news I've heard all day. This is fantastic. Not only did they lose their application with costs, but they lost it in the highest court if the land so they can't appeal this. We are sick and tired of the arrogance of these foreigners.🚮

J_chabalala No permanent residency but you have the nerve to demand things from SA? Baphuzana inyongo laba. They needed this reminder...
