A 74-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Torbex Road, Cumbernauld on Tuesday, July 26.

Lanarkshire Police Division confirmed on Monday that the OAP was 'injured as a result' of the 'incident'. Officers, however, did not disclose the severity of his injuries nor if he required hospital treatment nor the time of the 'assault'. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection. The teenager is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a laster date.
