A Cape Town ward councillor accused lobby group Ndifuna Ukwazi of holding residents hostage as they gear up to haul the City of Cape Town to court with regard to its treatment of the homeless. | MarvinCharles_

The ward councillor, Emile Langenhoven, wrote a scathing email to residents of ward 62, following a News24 article, after 11 people, represented by Ndifuna Ukwazi, filed a notice of motion in the Equality Court sitting in the Western Cape High Court to challenge the City's amendments to the Street, Public Places, and the Prevention of Noise Nuisances by-law in February this year.
