Neymar is set to stand trial mere weeks before the FIFA World Cup later this year, in a fraud case involving his move to Barcelona.The Brazilian superstar has been a world phenomenon since he was a teenager plying his trade in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

Sought after by the world's biggest clubs after he emerged as a wonderkid at Santos, the attacker finally got his move to the Blaugrana in 2013. Now, however, it appears that the 30-year-old forward might be facing serious legal trouble pertaining to his move to the Camp Nou.Barca and Santos agreed a fee of €88 million transfer fee nine years ago, but a Brazilian company known as DIS has levelled charges of fraud against the player, his father, and executives from both clubs.

DIS is understood to have owned 40% of Neymar's rights during his time in Brazil's top division, and believe much more money was involved in the deal that took him to Spain. The company is now stating that it should have earned much more money from the transfer, having made an initial complaint back in 2014, which was when the investigation into the matter first began, according to theWith the case set to be heard on trial in Barcelona in October, the prosecutor's office is said to be pushing for a two-year prison sentence for Neymar, plus a €10 million fine.
