The Duchess of Sussex's legal team have moved to dismiss Samantha Markle's defamation case, saying that Meghan's statement was reflective of her own feelings about her childhood

Meghan Markle claimed in her bombshell Oprah interview that she "grew up as an only child". She also said: "I wished I had siblings, I would have loved to have had siblings." Now Meghan's half sister Samantha is suing the Duchess for $75,000 after calling these claims "humiliating".

Meghan's lawyers say that her description of growing up as an only child cannot be false because it is a "textbook example of a subjective statement of how a person feels about their childhood." Samantha, on the other hand, claims that the bombshell interview subjected her to "humiliation, shame and hatred on a worldwide scale." She also says that Meghan told "false and malicious lies" about her "rags to royalty" story at the expense of her paternal family.
