American basketball star Brittney Griner testified Wednesday at her drug trial in Russia that a language interpreter translated only a fraction of what was said during her questioning and officials instructed her to sign documents without providing an explanation.

Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport in February. She acknowledged in court earlier this month that she had vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her luggage when she arrived in Russia but contends she had no criminal intent and packed the cartridges inadvertently.

Griner faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of transporting drugs. Her trial started July 1, and Wednesday was her first appearance as a witness. The court outside Moscow held five previous sessions that were short, some lasting only about an hour. Griner testified Wednesday that she was suffering from pain from injuries sustained during her basketball career. She emphasized that cannabis oil is widely used in the United States for medicinal purposes and has less negative effects than some other painkillers

She's seeking for a mistrial or something? Can't use American law or standards in Russia. They do it differently. It's their territory, their procedures.

Do you have sympathy for her?

Russia is doing the right thing.

Soap 🧼 tho

Let here her peddle her being oppressed bs to the Russians. lol. 3 years in prison then ship her back.

You don’t bring drugs into a 1st world country. Let alone a 2nd or 3rd. She’s gonna pay the price now

Who?

A man was just given jail time earlier this week for the same thing so...

Sorry man don't bring drugs to foreign countries.

Another saint...🤡

Remember the two Micheals not getting anywhere near this coverage when they were being held for a couple of years?

Brittney Griner to testify in Russian court: reportsWNBA star Brittney Griner is expected to testify in a Russian courtroom on Wednesday as her attorneys lay out their case for leniency after she admitted to bringing cannabis oil into the country, multiple outlets reported. Lookin' good! Hope she enjoys her 8-10 year prison sentence. Russia doesn’t piss around with this stuff. She could have applied for a waiver, but like the typical yank, felt she was above the laws of another country. Am tired of seeing people like her break's the law and don't do jail time. But am not famous if I break the law I go to jail. Why should she get off she no better then me the only thing is she is a famous basketball player.

WNBA star Brittney Griner's drawn-out drug trial in Russia resumesAmerican basketball star Brittney Griner returns Tuesday to a Russian courtroom for her drawn-out trial on drug charges that could bring her 10 years in prison if convicted. The Jan 6 hearings are drawn-out. It’s just a cannabis vape. Just to forget stress of the day and relax for a little while. Stoner lives matter 💨 I barely heard anything from CTV about the 2 Michael’s being held in China for years. Why so much coverage of an American being held in Russia. I suspect CTV is following orders from someone?
