Police said in a release Tuesday that a citizen called in the complaint of a person driving erratically at about 10 p.m.While talking to the suspect, 37, officers observed signs of intoxication. The driver was arrested and agreed to go to the police station for a breathalyzer.
The test indicated a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. As the suspect had a previous offence over the last 10 years, his driver’s license was immediately suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized. He was released on a promise to appear. Impaired driving charges are to be submitted to the director of public prosecutions.
