As a result, advocates of federal climate change programs must help elect a more environmentally friendly and climate-change-sensitive Congress.

Two former EPA administrators cast doubt on the agency's ability to pass any transformational climate program not enacted by Congress.Climate change is a planetary danger, with its effects of sea level rise, drought, storms, heat waves, melting glaciers and warming oceans. The principal cause is the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. When these gases are emitted, they do not remain local but circulate all over the world.

Neither the U.S. House of Representatives nor the Senate could possess the expertise nor the available time to meet the goals inherent in these purposes. Accordingly, a consensus and understanding were reached in the early 1930s that federal regulatory formulation and enforcement would be implemented through a regulatory agency structure.

Under this structure, doctrine, and mandates, the federal regulatory sector over the past century, while not perfect, has become a model of efficiency and quality-of-life enhancement for the developed and developing world. Its performance in such areas as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, financial markets, securities regulation, labor safety, education and healthcare has definitely exceeded the expectations present at the time of the establishment of the relevant agencies.

We both strongly admire the staff at Region 2 EPA. They are among the most professional and competent individuals at any level of government, federal, state, and local. And with limited financial resources and insufficient statutory tools, they are confronting the most dangerous environmental menace of our time, climate change.

Bring back all the industry to the US, where state of the art factories can capture the pollution before it gets into the atmosphere. Keep the wealth in the US. Or send it to South America with pollution controls.

Selling snake oil , propagandist media

Translation: Give us un-elected bureaucrats our undeserved powers back!

Correction: 2 former unelected bureaucrats:

Two Swamp Creatures who want the United States to unilaterally disarm its industrial and manufacturing base while requiring nothing of our international competition who continue to build coal plants and pollute the planet with reckless abandon.

The captured McConnell SCOTUS' master plan is flawed beyond belief.

Congress does not want to get their hands dirty with actually debating and passing legislation. They would rather have anonymous bureaucrats do it. That way they can hold their hands up and say” not me”. Cash then comes in from all sides.

The hyperbole is off the charts these days 🙄

They are free to write their congressperson to draft an actual law to regulate CO2 emissions.

The epa doesn’t set legislation. If these dirty politicans don’t want to make laws to protect the environment, vote them out.

Wrong, government agencies don’t make laws, thats for legislative branches of government….Obviously these government employees nor does the know this
