Rapper wants justice after Ottawa police 'tore house apart' in failed no-knock raid ottnews ottawa

Black men, who experts say are — along with Indigenous residents — disproportionately affected by violent police tactics.

"And at times, if the raids are not conducted properly or if the warrant wasn't applied for properly or properly obtained, even when there is evidence of criminality, that may get tossed out in court."A major problem is that police agencies don't track how often their no-knock raids go off the rails for one or more of those reasons, both Owusu-Bempah and Giancaterino, the Ottawa defence lawyer, said.

University of Toronto sociologist Akwasi Owusu-Bempah says police aren't held accountable when a raid fails to turn up any evidence of criminality.

Poor bastard. 😣

Chris should absolutely sue. Where is the accountability?! How is it just to have your door kicked down and have dozens of cops in military style gear holding you at gunpoint? Why? Well someone said they might have seen a guy leaving with a fist closed? Police reform now. ACAB

I hope the police were wearing masks and boosted

... he was charged for Oxy pills he had a valid prescription for? Ottawa Police are a bunch of jokers huh.

Whaaaaa You were lucky this time

Who?!

looks innocent......lol

another example of zero accountability by police to the public ..who pay the bill.. PoliceReform

Rapping and publically bragging about selling drugs should be enough evidence imo

It may not be criminal to use a weapon with lethal force against LEO's that use no knock warrants. A WPG resident shot 3 members of wpgpolice while they were serving a warrant. The judge found him not guilty of shooting the 1st cop. He ruled he had a right to defend himself...

If these OttawaPolice are not fired for what they did, Mr. Woof would not be committing any sort of criminal offense by producing a weapon and defending himself with lethal force if he ever encountered thee officers on duty in the future. He could even use a car as a weapon.

I don't know about Ottawa, but here in Newfoundland, the RCMP use drug addicts as paid informants. If the informant does not have any useful information, they do not get paid. You can just imagine where that will lead to.

Support the fine arts, arrest the rappers

Well Rap is a crime, all on it’s own, so they should rearrest him for that.

Sue them for everything

this guy needs a cavity search.

Canada truly is the land of opportunity

Must have been a good hiding spot.

If only he could sue the individual police themselves . Because cops are civil servants, any compensation will come from the taxpayers Those cops should have to forfeit their salaries and pensions to pay for it

The warrant specifically stated that there would be 'Musical Talent' on the premises, but they came out empty handed.

Gangster

Wish I had $30g lying around. Ever explain where that came from? Sounds like the raid came after the product was sold & gone.

I don't understand the 10's of thousands of dollars in cash.
