WASHINGTON—A blank piece of legislation that says nothing, does nothing, and contains no text whatsoever has been the source of heated debate in Washington this week, and has sharply divided Congress along partisan lines, Beltway sources confirmed Thursday.

According to reports, 45 Democratic senators are in favor of the bill—which contains no text whatsoever—while 41 Republicans are staunchly opposed. At least three Republicans, including Sens. Richard Burr , David Vitter , and Susan Collins , have said they would consider crossing the aisle and backing the bill, an announcement that drew fierce criticism from GOP leadership and primary threats from members within their own party.

House Speaker John Boehner has already said the Senate version of the non-legislation is dead on arrival in the House, and that the Republican majority would work together to pass their own blank law.“The truth is, Speaker Boehner doesn’t have enough support in his own party, and will need Democratic help to pass anything,” said Rep. Steny Hoyer , adding that he “firmly and categorically stands behind” many of the nonexistent measures in the bill.

You can't just expect legislators to do something just because the peasants demand it. What kind of oligarchy do you think this is? Ain't nothing passing this Senate unless my corporate donors say so!

Ain’t that the truth!

And I have strong opinions about it!

It's the very defining moment Plato told us about.

Conservatives convinced that nothing just another step towards socialism. Liberals equally convinced that nothing only being proposed to line the pockets of 'Fat Cat Cronies'!

This might as well be reality.

Honestly, relatable.

Mayhem occurs at Capital as dozens of lobbyists can't figure out who to pay off.

Well there goes my hope for that one bill that says 'we should do something about this housing crisis.' It doesn't do anything, it just says maybe we should think about it.

Sounds about right...and will cost taxpayers billions right?

Polarization!!!

So? What’s new?

Doing nothing has been their agenda for three decades.

InUtahNotOfUTNP Rand Paul says he has no idea what's in it but it sounds expensive.

It's the Republican plan for combating inflation

Demoncrats vs Rethuglicans

The perfect satire

See you think this is still satire….

For a second, I forgot this was The Onion! LOL We're actually reaching Idiocracy levels of congressional accuracy.

I could get in a lot of trouble for leaking this..

It's a slippery slope to something

🤣

🤣😂🤣
