Police say 3 people were killed and 2 were wounded after a man walked into an Indianapolis shopping mall with a rifle and several magazines of ammunition and opened fire. The shooter was killed by an armed civilian, authorities said.

A 22-year-old man from nearby Bartholomew County shot and killed the gunman, Ison said. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities haven't said whether all of the victims were shot by the attacker or whether some might have been caught in the crossfire. Authorities are expected to release further details of the investigation at a news conference later Monday.

Four of the mall shooting victims were female and one was male, Ison said. He didn’t immediately know the sexes or ages of those who were killed. The 12-year-old girl and the other wounded person were in stable condition, he said.Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and multiple other agencies were assisting in the investigation.

Still now a good argument for less gun regulation. This has become too much a self h serving society that prefers to bypass being a good samaritan at every opportunity. Not discounting the courageous few who do, rather shaming the many who don't.

Good guy with a gun for the win. He saved lives because he WAS armed. Put that in your gun control pipe and smoke it.

A hero! 1 many reasons, civilians should have firearms. A good shot, only police expense, investigation.
