KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) are hoping to bring in a psychologist in a bid to beef up their players’ mental strength while playing under intense pressure on the court.

BAM high performance director Tim Jones said it was essential to add one in-house psychologist as he or she could help to deal with 80 senior players as well as complement the specialist from the National Sports Institute that they currently engage.

“Although we currently use a psychologist from NSI but, for me, I would like to bolster that because we have a lot of players, so I think it’ll be good to have another one to help.”
