In trying to defend Biden’s response to the overturning of Roe, the White House appears to have shown more frustration with pro-choice activists than with Republicans.

The White House tried to defend President Joe Biden’s seemingly drowsy response to the reversal ofon Saturday but instead sparked instant backlash by labeling pro-choice activists “out of touch.”responding to criticism of what many Democrats see as a response that has been too little, too late.

The statement, which many noted had taken aim at those fighting to uphold abortion rights rather than those who actively put women “in danger” by stripping them of the right to bodily autonomy, came as more thanto urge Biden to declare a state of emergency to protect abortion access. Upon getting to the tall gates surrounding the White House on Saturday, some abortion-rights activists danced while others expressed frustration at the Biden administration.Women’s March Director Rachel O’Leary Carmona told activists she hoped to “push [Biden’s] authority to the limit” regarding abortion rights.

“I cannot emphasize enough how badly telling pro-choice people to go fuck themselves right after Roe was overturned is going to go,” she wrote. “It is remarkably concerning that there are members of the Biden Administration who seem more frustrated at pro choice activists than at Republicans who systematically dismantled abortion rights,”

Biden is Catholic.

So?

Democrats always shoot themselves in the foot There are only 2 issues that will galvanize Dem voters in 2022: Women's freedom of choice Banning assault weapons If Dems don't hammer home the 180-degree difference between them & Republicans on these issues, stick a fork in them

Now the second article to attribute this as an official White House statement instead of a quote from the outgoing Comms Director.

If you don't like being called 'out of touch', perhaps the best plan is to get back in touch. Americans are extremely conflicted on abortion, with no clear majority for any given plan. The 'pro-choice vs pro-life' false dichotomy obscures this, and it's really misleading.

I wouldn’t have said it but I grow weary of the “it’s the Democrats fault” drumbeat.

Fact check: true.

Someone getting fired over this one

Boo-fucking-hoo

Why are you amplifying this BS?

Word used was “some” but no need for gratuitous remarks that subtract

How do you say “shut it down” in establishment dem language? Yikes. Bad take.

Not savvy though comment was not at all activists
