KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — Former attorney general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas today claimed that the country’s judicial system needs a revamp as it is being exploited.
“It has caused great damage to the country and the judicial and political system. Four years ago we all heard sermons from Tun galvanising the public against 1MDB and since then the evidence has been damning. “His case is going on long because we all know as lawyers, adjournments are easy to obtain in Malaysia. Judges are not strict enough and cases are not allowed to start and finish in one go.
He said it was unfortunate that Dr Mahathir stepping down as Pakatan Harapan leader had caused the collapse of the government paving the way for Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to take over.
