Health care workers deny mistreatment of stroke patients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Five health care workers have appeared in court in connection with allegations of mistreatment of patients at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Catherine Hudson, 52, of Coriander Close, Blackpool, pleaded not guilty to seven counts of being a care worker, ill-treating or assaulting six people in her care , eight counts of conspiracy to steal from her employer and committing acts intended to pervert the course of justice . Marek Grabianowski, 45, of Montpelier Avenue, Bispham, pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice by disposing of evidence in an attempt to thwart a criminal investigation and three counts of conspiracy to steal from his employer .

Matthew Pover, 39, of Bearwood Road, Smethwick, is accused of conspiracy to steal, theft from his employer, supplying a class C drug and offering to supply a class C drug . However he did not enter any pleas at today's hearing.
