Why am I paying for other people’s bad choices, my miss and I are in good jobs and have chosen not to have kids based on a fanatical perspective. We both have careers, me in the military and Leah as a senior scientist and we don’t want to lose half our income just to have a kid

This sounds like stupid administration rather than the system punishing people. It needs fixing as she is clearly trying to support herself + her kids albeit whoever the layabout dad is should also be paying his fair share so the benefits system isn't having to pick up his slack

Maybe she needs reminding that anyone living on U.K. welfare, is in the world’s richest 2% of people. The very reason the entire third world seems determined to cram themselves onto our tiny island.

Years ago I was single parent in year two had notification that was overpaid so for that year we lived on £3 week for food and there was no food banks then!!
