A day after the Supreme Court's bombshell ruling that ended the constitutional right to abortion, pro-choice officials across the U.S. vowed to protect women's access to reproductive health care, and abortion foes promised to take the fight to new arenas.

“We are a fund led by people of color, who will be criminalized first,” Torres said, adding that abortion funds like hers that have paused operations hope to find a way to safely restart. “We just really need to keep that in mind and understand the risk.”

At the National Right to Life convention in Atlanta, a leader within the anti-abortion group warned attendees Saturday that the Supreme Court’s decision ushers in “a time of great possibility and a time of great danger.” Turnout was smaller in Oklahoma City, where about 15 protesters rallied outside the Capitol. Oklahoma is one of 11 states where there are no providers offering abortions, and it passed the nation’s strictest abortion law in May.

Fellow West Virginian Sarah MacKenzie, 25, said she’s motivated to fight for abortion access by the memory of her mother, Denise Clegg, a passionate reproductive health advocate who worked for years at the state’s clinic as a nurse practitioner and died unexpectedly in May. MacKenzie plans to attend protests in the capital, Charleston, and donate to a local abortion fund.

We older women tried to warn you. Tried to warn those younger that any 'right' we fought for could easily be taken away. Just a matter of law. Though 'boring', do you now understand the importance of paying attention to politics? To vote? The ERA?

Constitutional right? The word ABORTION is not written anywhere in the constitution. You know what word is... LIFE

So, everything normal in the Republic of Gilead.

Editor’s Note: There is no constitutional right to abortion.

'New Arena' / Chuck Schumer's Whirlwind

Doing whatever it takes to allow a woman to make her own choice is in spirit anyway another form of the underground railroad. A strong human drive is for self-determination & there's gathering momentum and steam and lots of energy around ensuring no woman in need is denied.

That should be quite doable since no woman in the United States is being prevented from getting an abortion.

Hey AP it was NEVER a constitutional right. But guns are. 😎

'New Arenas“ These radicals are CrAzY!!! Please Livestream this event if it happens. Rural areas have all the guns...

It was never in the constitution. That's all they really said and gave the issue back to the states.

Stop with the euphemisms, please. It’s not “ reproductive health care”. It’s choosing to deliberately kill your unborn child.

I think it's time for us all - that includes the media - to correct this sentence, 'constitutional right to abortion' to read, Constitutional Right to Safe Medical Reproductive Care.

Abortion was never a Federal issue. It was returned to the States, where it should have been since 1973.
