THE Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday presented a list of priority areas that the next administration should focus on.'The new government must have a focused approach on some of these very basic areas that need to be addressed: education, rule of law, and ease of doing business,' said PCCI President George Barcelon during the 'Repurposing Industry for Retooling the Economy' forum of The Manila Times.

Barcelon said the Philippines could produce other crops that can be exported. He also called for a bigger budget of the Agriculture department. In a separate statement, the PCCI lauded Marcos' move to assume the Agriculture portfolio.'This is truly a confidence-building measure that under his leadership, agriculture will finally be given the long-overdue attention it needs as a sector that is a crucial and foundational part of our country's economic transformation,' Barcelon said.
