The fate of the bill is uncertain because the state Senate has not so far taken up the measure.

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey would change the age for purchasing rifles and shotguns from 18 to 21 under legislation an Assembly committee advanced on Wednesday, part of new bills aimed at tightening the state’s already strict gun laws.

New Jersey's bill follows New York, which earlier this month adopted legislation setting 21 as the age at which residents could buy semiautomatic rifles — weapons already banned in New Jersey. Rhode Island adopted a similar measure just this week. The committee also considered eight other bills, broadly in line with Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy's repeated calls for more gun safety measures. The other measures include legislation sought by Murphy to allow the state attorney general to probe and seek injunctions against gun manufacturers whose weapons go against the state's public nuisance laws.

Wearing a red Moms Demand Action T-Shirt, Amy Faucher directly linked the bill increasing the firearm purchase age to the shootings in Texas and New York.

It's paramount that this bill passes, though it's just as important for neighboring states to also pass similar bills, or else firearms will still find their way into the hands of criminals without much of an issue obtaining them. We need national gun reform, now!

Here's what the states' legal codes say about gas pump limitations and why they exist. Good thing I live in a free state. No goon is getting close to my paint with that nozzle. I stopped in jersey for gas and while pumping my own gas, a young snot tried to tell me i couldn't do that. I said its not rocket science and you sure as hell aren't spilling gas down the side of my brand new car.. i filled it up, paid the money and went on down the road
