Roughly 20 million people watched live coverage of the Jan. 6th committee hearing on Thursday — way more than the first day of either of Trump’s impeachment trials.

While coverage varied by network, Nielsen said the hearing aired across 12 networks in total between 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET.

ABC drew the largest audience by far, with 5.2 million viewers, followed by NBC , MSNBC , CBS , CNN and Fox Business Network . Outside of the main cable and broadcast networks, the event was also aired on NBC LX, PBS, CNBC, CNNe, Newsmax and NewsNation. The figures from Nielsen included viewership from TVs outside of living rooms in places like bars and restaurants, as well as digital TVs. But they didn't include digital viewership or ratings from PBS.Fox News did not air the hearing on Fox News Channel, and instead kept its primetime lineup during the 8 p.m.-10 p.m. ET hours. But it did air the hearing on Fox Business Network and across local affiliates.Fox New Channel still drew 3.

Hmm funny. I saw that all the networks that carried lost viewers that night.

I guess it's not newsworthy that Fox aired Carlson's shows without commercials...? I wonder how many times that has ever happened. Likely there hasn't been many times Fox has been that scared about it's viewers possibly changing the channel and hearing some truth.

That’s across like 8 networks. It was a ratings bust.

No matter how you try to manipulate the stats that is a small number. 11 networks carried this during prime time.

same number as the Kavanaugh hearings, lol

Great... But there 320 mil.folks.

Or any apprentice episode ever made

What You I'd expect way more of the 81million Biden voters would've tuned in...or maybe they don't exist...or maybe the didn't pay the 2000 Mules enough.

They spent 2 hours telling us everything we already knew.

Musk wants to know how many of those viewers were bots.

It was kind of hard to miss since every channel except FOX was airing it.

You're counting all the tv's in nursing homes left on after hours. Same ones whose votes were cast for them in 2020.

Well, this is something. I'm surprised 20 million ppl still watch TV.
